Linen Fabric Care

Here's our simple guide of how to care for linen garments – Good care will help keep linen look better and last longer.

Washing

Linen can be washed by hand, machine (on the gentle cycle) using warm or cold water, or dry cleaned. Colored fabric should be washed with mild detergents or mild soap. Bleaching with chlorine-containing detergents is not recommend as it can damage any sort of fabric.
If the water used for washing is calcified, we recommend adding fabric softener, especially when washing darker fabrics. However, never wash dark and light fabrics together.

Drying

Linen garments should be air-dried naturally, therefore always dry your linen flat on a towel or use a drying rack (out of the sun if possible). Given how quickly flax dries, and also to prevent shrinkage and wrinkling – air drying is the best option. Also, after washing it is important to dry linen it in time, if linen dries out completely, it can become very difficult to iron.

Stain Removal

If you get a stain on your garment, you can remove it with a stain solution. But make sure to avoid stain solutions with bleach – bleach can damage the fabric. If you are unsure how to proceed, seek the advice of a professional.

Ironing or Steaming*

Use the iron on damp linen garment, it is much easier to iron while damp. It is recommended to steam linen products . After you’re done ironing, steaming, hang the linen up to dry.

*It is recommended not to iron or steam Waffle and Plisse Linen products.
